Adoption meets Education

Essex Adoption Service is incredibly proud of one of our adopted Young People, Jackson age 16, for his recent public speaking engagement. Jackson spoke at an Adoption Workshop at the Annual Conference for Essex Designated Teachers for Children in Care. The theme of the day ‘Aspire to Achieve’ was attended by over 250 professionals.

Jackson talked about his personal experiences at school and spoke openly about the challenges he faced with concentration and the support he received. He went on to answer questions about good practice at school. Jackson’s personal contributions were hugely valued and made a strong impact to the audience. Jackson promoted the inspiring message of the day, that each individual can make a positive difference to a child.

Well done Jackson we are so proud of you for having the courage to teach us more about how we can do our jobs better. You certainly inspired us.
