Wednesday 22 August 2018

Essex County Council is launching the Oasis Network for foster carers which will provide support, respite and advice from an experienced carer and mentor.

Date: Wednesday 29 August
Time: 10am to 4pm. Presentations at 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm.
Location: County Hall, Chelmsford

We are looking for experienced foster carers to join the Oasis Network. They will provide support and respite to a group of 6 to 8 foster homes by giving carers

  • an oasis with space and time to reflect
  • a network of additional support
  • motivation and confidence building
  • a network that reduces carer isolation.

This scheme will also

  • offer placement stability for young people
  • enhance the fostering experience
  • reduce placement moves.

Come along to County Hall in Chelmsford on Wednesday 29 August from 10am to 4pm to find out more. Presentations will be held at 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm with the opportunity to ask the team questions and to register your interest in the role.

As an Oasis Network Carer you will receive a bespoke financial package of around £20,000 per year plus training and will be fully supported by a Liaison Worker. You will benefit from stronger relationships with fellow foster carers and social workers gaining knowledge and access to resources. The role is ideal for experienced caregivers with well-developed social and emotional skills who excel at building strong relationships.
