Fostering information events
Our online and face to face drop in information events are an informal opportunity to learn more about fostering and how to become a foster carer. You can hear first-hand from people who foster and learn about some of the children who need homes. Social workers and foster carers will be on hand to chat and answer your questions, and we'll tell you more about the process of becoming a foster carer.
Our information events cover different areas of fostering, from supported lodgings to fostering a child with disabilities. If you're thinking about fostering, come along to an event to learn more.
Events are held on both online via Zoom and face to face. If you have any questions about our events, please call us on 0800 801 530 or send us an email at FosterRecruitment@essex.gov.uk.

Fostering
"Anyone can foster. It's the best thing we've ever done." Debbie and Vic, foster carers
“My advice to anyone thinking about fostering is to do your homework, ask a mountain of questions, and talk to as many people as you can."
